Homemade Biscuits
This recipe is a frequent request from JA!
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 cups Martha White self-rising flour
1/4 cup Crisco all-vegetable shortening
3/4 cup milk
Directions:
1) Heat oven to 450 degrees F. Spray a cookie sheet or cake pan with lightly with non-stick cooking spray. Scoop flour into a large bowl. Cut in shortening (not with a hand mixer- it will be a disaster) with a fork or large spoon until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
2) Add milk. Stir with a fork until soft dough forms and mixture begins to pull away from sides of the bowl.
3) By hand, knead the dough in the bowl. Pull the desired biscuit-sized balls from the dough bowl. Place biscuits in the prepared pan, with the biscuit sides just barely touching.
4) Bake 10-12 minutes, or until biscuits are golden on the tops.
Bon Appétit!
